Opened on October 2, 1911 under the direction of the Laurel Four County Fair, Laurel Race Track is known as Maryland's premier destination for horse racing.

Laurel Park race track has become one of the regular hosts of the Maryland Million, and has been offering exciting thoroughbred horse racing for over a century, including some of the most prestigious events in the D.C area, such as the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash, Barbara Fritchie Handicap and General George Handicap.

Known as the premier destination for horse racing in Maryland, Laurel Race Course first appeared on the racing scene on October 2, 1911. Since then, the track has been offering exciting thoroughbred horse racing, including some of the most prestigious events in the D.C area, such as the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash (Grade I), Barbara Fritchie Handicap and General George Handicap (Grade II).

In addition to Grade I and Grade II events, Laurel Park hosts its annual Winter meet from January to March with live racing running from Tuesday through Saturday.
