Located in Anderson, Indiana, Hoosier Park was the first racetrack outside Kentucky owned by Churchill Downs since 1939. The race course opened in 1994 offers Harness, Thoroughbred, and Quarter horse racing, as well as high-profile Stakes events every year including the Plymouth Stakes; the Muskegon Classic; the Frontier Handicap; the Michigan Sire Stakes; and the Michigan Futurity.

In 2009, the Horseplayers Association of North America implemented a rating system for 65 Thoroughbred racetracks in North America. Of the top Ten, Hoosier Park was ranked #4.
